“God Revealed My 1982 Prosperity To Esike” – Akagburuonye
Barr. Success Obioma Akagburuonye, an Abuja based Real Estate guru, reverred Ambassador of kingdom investment and a Philanthropist par excellence has shockingly revealed how God used Rev. Sunday Esike of Assemblies of God Church, Uvuru Egbelu in Aboh Mbaise LGA of Imo State then in 1982 to prophesied his prosperity, despite his stubbornness and stupidities as a secondary school student and the prophecy came to pass 10 years after.
Akagburuonye who’s the National Coordinator of Hope Rising For Imolites (Olile Anya Di) disclosed this at Assemblies of God Church, Uwani Enugu, (Church in the wilderness), the very church which Esike pastored last and retired as an active servant of Most High God.
The Philanthropist who earlier in the week was decorated as the National Patron of South East Communities Development Association, SECDA and South East Communities Development Association Cooperative Union in a well attended function at a prestigious hotel in Enugu said he resolved to organized a thanks giving service in the church so as to appreciate God, the church and share with them the genesis of his wealth and prosperity.
He philanthropically blessed the church with over 5 Million Naira by agreeing to pay their monthly rent of 210,000= until they recovered their seized church building but instantly paid up to December,2025, gave the choir 500,000= for angelic performances, gave 100,000= as transport fare to each of the retired pastors that attended the thanksgiving service, sumptuously entertained the congregation and presented a cow to the church
Akagburuonye expressed displeasure over the factionalization of the church and promised throwing his weight to ensure that he resolved whatever that caused the dispute and also to make frantic efforts before his forthcoming oversea trips to ensure that they regain their original church premises, even as he said he detests dabbling into church politics.
He pointed out that something special brought him to Rev. Sunday Esike, then , and it was one of the things President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCON reminded him when he recently visited him in Otta so as to invite him for the official commissioning and dedication of Noah’s Ark Church Auditorium at Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru Mbaise in Aboh Mbaise Council area of Imo State.
Akagburuonye said that Obasanjo told him, that they have two things in common, that the devil has been pricing them but he cannot buy them, because God has assignment for them and until they accomplished those assignments that nothing will happen to them
“There was a programme we held in 1982 at Assemblies of God Church ,Ogbor Uvuru Mbaise, then I was in Class 4 in Secondary School and a man of God who happened to be Rev. Sunday Esike prophesied to my mother that God clearly told him that I will be her son that will wipe tears in the eyes of the family and restored the dignities of the family but I must go to school for the prophecy to come through.
” However, I have earlier resolved not to go to school again, simply because my classmate then attended our school inter house sports with 504 Peugeot Saloon Car, unknown to me and many that he was a panel beater, that the car doesn’t belong to him, he only repaired it for somebody and rushed with it to the inter house just to show off.
“Ironically, am the one that even invited him because I used to do well in high jump, such that any house I belonged to, will certainly lift the cup, so he came around, bought geisha at 15 Kobo and other things, he was sharing it, intimidating some of us, and students were enviously following him as a big boy and I was in self pity managing the little things they gave me for my excellent performances during the inter house sports, so when I came back home, I bluntly told my parents that I will no longer go to school, I want to go and learn hand work so as to make money quick and help the family.
“My mother started crying and preaching to me, I angrily told her, look, you are living in a thatched house, I have the zeal and vision now to make money quick, so that the house roof will not fall on you. Later, she said okay, it’s a relief to them, let the ones that are reasonable go to school, because I was considered to be very very stubborn.
“It was in the midst of that situation, that a man of God came for a programme hosted by the church. He started praying and said God ministered to him to tell my parents that am the one, God will use to wipe out their tears, that if it means begging me to go to school they should do that, even if it means borrowing to pay my school fees that they should not hesitate, and that man of God is Rev. Sunday Esike.
“Something tragic again happened to my life in 1983, a year after the prophecy, the Principal of the community secondary school I was attending, flogged me to an extent I could not sit down for 3 days, because I belonged to a group called, Umu Akpunaonu, just like the American film called the Usual Suspect, what ever crime committed in the school, my group is always linked to it as prime suspect. Later we renamed the group and called it, Ifo aghaghi nambe (no folk tale without tortoise).
“While the principal was advising us, I didn’t know what came over me, that I insulted him, to an extent I asked him to be mindful of his own business. He felt insulted and humiliated, thus, he flogged me to an extent I couldn’t sit down for 3 days, so when I recovered from the pains, I angrily resolved to go and kill him in his office, and with well sharpened dagger in the pocket of the school uniform I was wearing.
“As I entered his office on that fateful day, I told him point blank that his life will surely end today, he asked, if I have come to fight him, I boldly said yes, he then stood up and asked me to wait for him, and stupidly I waited as he went outside, and suddenly brought all the teachers who later surrounded me. You can imagine how naive I was, allowing somebody I have threatened to kill to walk out before me.The teachers over powered me and PTA meeting was held and a resolution was quickly passed for my expulsion and further banned from getting admission in any secondary school in Imo State.
“I was extremely happy, the moment I had the announcement, but to my mother, it was not funny, as she again cried unto the Lord and went to Assemblies of God Church, Uvuru Egbelu where Rev.Sunday Esike was pastoring. I used to admire Reverend Esike because he was a district officer in charge of a group then called Christ Ambassadors, CA. Very vibrant young man then. My mother went to him crying, unknown to her, I was following her behind.
“When Rev. Esike saw her crying, he consoled her and asked her what was the problem, my mother said she is worried because she gave birth to a stubborn son. After prayers and counselling, he held my mother on the shoulder and asked her some pertinent questions like, mama this your son that’s making you to cry every day does he steal ? My mother said, no. Does he lie ? My mother said no. What ever he does, he will tell you he did it, what will you do ? And Rev. Esike asked her what then is his problem, she said, my son Success Obioma is a very stubborn child.
“Look at it, the man of God has prophesied that he is the one that will liberate the family from abject poverty and mockery, now he has been expelled from school. The man of God was specific that he must go to school so as to manifest the blessings of God, if he did not go to school the blessings of God will not manifest and now he has been expelled and banned from going to school. Is it how he is going to liberate the family ? Then Rev. Esike said, ” look Mama, if I be a man of God, and if I was called to come and serve God, hear me well, after hearing bad news about this your son, you will start to hear good news and the good news will overwhelmed the bad news”.
“As he was praying for my mother, he saw me peeping, he sent the youths to go and bring me and they brought me into the church. He said, “my son, are you happy that your mother is every day crying and weeping because of you ?” He said any way, embrace Jesus so that you (I) will have peace. I was listening attentively. He went and brought two glass cups, I don’t know what he poured in one of the glass cups and it turned red and the other cup has what I suspected to be water, he said look at what God will do in your life when you accept him. He poured the red one into the white content glass cup, all turned white.
“I fell down under anointing and they happily thought I have repented and they prayed for me. I jumped out and started avoiding him with passion. I didn’t see him again until he left my area, however, when I was in prison custody, I started remembering alot of things about my life including the prophesies. His prophecy came through and last year, God pricked my soul to go and look for him, eventually when I rediscovered him. I brought him to the same Church he made the prophecy, shared this testimony and God asked me to build and furnished a befitting house for him in any place of his choice and to God be the glory, this have been achieved”.
Earlier in his sermon, Rev. David Ezeocha, the Resident Pastor who expressed gratitude to Akagburuonye, his entourage and philanthropic gestures, appealed to privileged christians on the need of increasing generosity to the weak and afflicted persons in their midst, anchoring his advise on the biblical books of Isaiah 4vs 35 and 2 Corinthians 9 vs 11.
Ezeocha however lamented that the world is in a perilous situation with no affection nor compassion for the people who are weak, vulnerable and lives in penury.
He reiterated on the need to always show compassion to vulnerable persons, people living with disabilities and poorest of the poor noting that they don’t deserve rejection, pity, discrimination, humiliation nor be intimidated.
“No one should treat the weak with contempt. They weak should always be strengthened with generosity and patience so as to gain God’s abundant grace and blessings”he assured.
Also speaking, Deacon Harrison Ezeudoye, the Church Secretary also applauded Akagburuonye for the numerous infrastructural developments and transformations as well human capacities building to the General Council, the Districts and the local churches of Assemblies of God Nigeria, AGN.
Ezeudoye further thanked Akagburuonye for his humanitarian gestures to Rev. Sunday Esike and family and prayed for God’s abundant blessings to him and his family.
He informed that Assemblies of God Church Uwani is the leading Church in the entire Enugu South District, with a well built 8,000 sitting capacity cathedral, 4 parsonages, as well as international secondary and primary schools.
The Secretary expressed regrets that they forcefully lost the premises to the other faction due to the leadership crisis that rocked the National Church.
Ezeudoye lamented over alot of woes they have been subjected to since they lost the place of their worship and appealed for assistance.
The highlight of the thanks giving service was a congregational chained prayers to Akagburuonye who laid bare on the floor of the altar by all the men and women of God in attendance.

Breaking: Drama As Senate Changes Rules To Become Senate President
The Senate has amended its internal rules that restricted the eligibility of those interested in the Senate presidency to a few.
This is as the new rules indicated that only members of the 10th National Assembly, who returned to the Chamber after the 2027 election, can become principal officers in the 11th assembly.
The decision was reached after a marathon closed-door session that was publicly criticised by Senator Adams Oshiomhole from Edo state.
The Senate has made a major shift to its internal rules as it amended its standing orders to restrict the eligibility of candidates for the office of the Senate President to only members of the 10th National Assembly.
The move came after a marathon closed-door session where the lawmakers agreed on new criteria that prioritise parliamentary hierarchy and experience. Under the revised rules, only senators who have been in the national assembly would be able to contest for principal offices.
According to Channels TV, the new law stated that at least one of the two terms must be the immediate term before the nomination, a move that effectively narrowed the field of contenders.
The amended Order 4 of the Senate reads:
“Nomination of Senators to serve as Presiding Officers shall be in accordance with the ranking of Senators and shall be strictly adhered to.
“This means that only senators currently serving under the Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s leadership of the 10th Assembly who secured their re-election in the 2027 general elections would be able to contest for the Senate presidency and other principal offices.
According to the Senate, the development was intended to strengthen adherence to the tradition of ranking within the Upper legislative chamber
Daily voice.ng earlier reported that Senate President Godswil Akpabio has blamed the insecurity in the country on the upcoming elections, and predicted improvement after the polls.
However, some critics of the claim have challenged Akpabio’s views and highlighted the need for peace ahead of elections.
At the same time, public reactions have revealed mixed feelings on security and Akpabio’s optimistic outlook ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tension As ICPC Files Fresh Charges Against El- Rufai
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has filed fresh criminal charges against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and seven others over alleged fraud and money laundering linked to a ₦10.8 billion CCTV security project in the state.
According to court documents filed at the Federal High Court in Kaduna on April 17, the anti-graft agency brought 11 counts against the former governor and the other defendants under the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
A former Kaduna State Commissioner for Information and Chairman of Liberty Television, Alhaji Tijjani Ramalan, disclosed the development in a post on his Facebook page.
Ramalan said El-Rufai and the seven other accused persons would soon face the new charges.
The ICPC alleged that El-Rufai approved the award of an ₦8.68bn CCTV contract in December 2015 to a company it claimed lacked the required competence.
The commission also alleged that several large sums were received and transferred between 2017 and 2022 by individuals and companies linked to the project.
The firms mentioned include Singularity Network Security Limited and other companies allegedly connected to the CCTV security project.
Others named in the case include a former Kaduna State government official, Jimi Lawal; senior executives of IHS Towers; and five companies.
One of El-Rufai’s sons, Bashir El-Rufai, was also mentioned in the allegations but was not listed as a defendant.
The fresh charge is the third set of charges filed by the ICPC against the former governor since March.
El-Rufai is already facing separate corruption-related cases involving other state projects, including a light rail contract and severance payments.
He had denied wrongdoing in earlier court appearances.
Other agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), are also investigating or prosecuting him over separate allegations.

Jonathan Writes UK Court, Defends Diezani’s Use Of Private Jets
A statement by former President Goodluck Jonathan has been read before the Southwark Crown Court in the United Kingdom in the ongoing trial of Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The statement was presented during proceedings on Tuesday, according to BBC reports.
In the statement, Jonathan said it was not unusual for third parties to make payments on behalf of ministers during official overseas duties.
“Any properly incurred incidental or in-kind assistance from third parties would be recorded and reimbursed where applicable,” the former president was quoted as saying.
He also confirmed that he approved Alison-Madueke’s use of private jets for certain foreign trips.
Alison-Madueke, who served as minister of petroleum resources from 2010 to 2015, is standing trial alongside Olatimbo Ayinde and Doye Agama.
They are facing a five-count charge bordering on accepting bribes but have all pleaded not guilty.
Earlier in the trial, prosecutors accused the former minister of accepting luxury goods and access to high-end properties from individuals seeking favourable treatment in oil contracts.
They alleged that the benefits were provided in exchange for influence within the petroleum sector.
Counsel to Alison-Madueke, Jonathan Laidlaw, told the court that his client had no real influence over the award of oil contracts during her time in office.
Meanwhile, Nigerian businessman Igho Sanomi and Ghanaian businessman Kevin Okyere have denied allegations of bribery.
Their statements, read in court, indicated that payments made on behalf of the former minister were later reimbursed.
Okyere stated that he paid about £3,900 for items purchased by Alison-Madueke in 2014, adding that the money was later refunded in cash.
Sanomi also said items he purchased on behalf of the former minister were reimbursed, insisting that his companies secured contracts through fair competition.
The trial is ongoing, with further proceedings expected as the court continues to examine evidence and witness statements.
