I Was Raped By My Colleague, Actress Lolo 1 Alleges
Popular Nigerian actress and media personality, Omotunde Adebowale-David, also known as Lolo 1, has alleged that a colleague once raped her.
The actress shared her traumatic experience of being raped by a male colleague in the broadcasting industry on her podcast “Say My Piece”, which was posted on YouTube on Friday.
According to Lolo 1, she was raped by a colleague, which has left her traumatised and experiencing momentary panic whenever she sees him.
Lolo 1 stated that naming the rapist now will bring her criticism for not speaking out earlier but doing so now that the said person is an established figure in the industry.

She noted that women often respond to sexual assault with denial and self-blaming, highlighting the complexities of trauma and recovery.
She said, “I hardly ever say this, and I am not even ready to tell the full story. The stories of sexual assault. When I discussed it with my daughter yesterday, she held my hand and said, ‘Mummy, you’ve gone through so much.’ And I said I had.
“I remember how many of those things I have to relive. I have been raped only once in my life, and I was raped by a colleague. I see him every other day. Do you know how traumatized I am? When I see him, I just get into this momentary panic.
“But if a woman of my calibre named him, he’s an established person in the broadcast industry, won’t people say, ‘How come I didn’t speak about it for all these six years until now that he’s taking a prominent TV position?’
“When sexual assault happens to women, the first thing to happen is denial. The next thing is self-blaming.”

Davido Slams Sophia Momodu’s Lawyer After Custody Case Is Dropped
Nigerian music star, Davido Adeleke, better known as Davido, has publicly called out the lawyer representing his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, following their recent court session over joint custody of their daughter, Imade Adeleke.
Daily voice recalls that drama ensued during the court proceedings when Sophia’s lawyer questioned how Davido could guarantee Imade’s safety when he was unable to protect his son, Ifeanyi, who passed away in October 2022.
The lawyer’s comment ticked Davido off, who reportedly lost his cool and slammed the lawyer in the courtroom.
The court proceedings were halted for a while, and when the court reconvened, the judge asked Davido to apologise to the court and the lawyer, but the singer reportedly refused, insisting he can never apologise to the lawyer for using his deceased son against him.
Taking to social media shortly after the hearing, Davido did not hold back, accusing the lawyer of being unprofessional during the proceedings.
The singer also expressed anger that his late son, Ifeanyi, was mentioned during the session, describing the move as insensitive given what he and his wife have been through.
Davido further called the lawyer a wicked human being, insisting that he defeated her during the courtroom exchange.
He wrote, “@belachukwu I disgraced you in the courtroom. I was teaching you your work, you couldn’t even take it and then went on to mention my son… like I said in the courtroom. I pray you never go through what me and my wife have gone through ever… and you were still smilling smirking… You are a wicked human being. You are the worst lawyer ever. I beat you in court! you are not learned.”

Davido Breaks Silence After Grammy Loss
Nigerian singer Davido has broken his silence following his loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards held on Sunday, February 1.
Daily voice reports that his song featuring Omah Lay, With You was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category, but he did not take home the prize.
After the awards night, the singer shared photos from the event on his Instagram page, with the caption, “Oluwa Dey My Side.” South African star Tyla had clinched the prize for Best African Music Performance category for her song Push 2 Start.
The category featured several Nigerian artistes, including Burna Boy with Love, Davido with With You featuring Omah Lay, and the joint entry from Ayra Starr and Wizkid titled Gimme Dat. Also nominated was Hope & Love by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin. Despite the heavy Nigerian presence, none of the country’s nominees emerged victorious.
The Best African Music Performance category was created to give African sounds wider global attention, and this year’s shortlist once again reflected Nigeria’s strong impact in the music space, with three Nigerian acts making the final list.
Tyla’s latest win makes her a two-time recipient of the Best African Music Performance award. She first claimed the honor in 2024 with Water, becoming the first artiste to win the category. Tyla, 24, is a South African singer and songwriter known for blending amapiano, pop and R&B sounds.
