BREAKING: Ogogo’s Daughter Speaks on Viral Death Claims

Published

on

Daughter of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, debunked viral reports on Tuesday that the 66-year-old actor had died after being rejected by hospitals.

The false claim spread after a Facebook user alleged that Haleemah Taiwo announced her father’s death.

“Haleemah Taiwo just posted that her father, Mr. Hassan Taiwo, has passed away after being rejected by different hospitals. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. May his soul rest… He’s finally gone,” the post read.

Lima dismissed it on Instagram, “This is false!! This is false!!! THIS IS FAKE… PLEASE STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS,” she wrote.

The clarification came less than 24 hours after Lima and her sister Kira Taiwo publicly appealed for help for their father, who is battling stage four cancer.

In an Instagram video on Monday, Lima said Ogogo’s condition had worsened and alleged that some hospitals had declined further treatment.

She said the family only discovered the severity of the illness about three weeks ago.

“We are not asking for money. We need medical assistance for our father,” Lima said, appealing to doctors, hospitals and individuals with access to cancer treatment facilities.

Kira, in a separate video, said the hospital treating Ogogo informed the family it could no longer administer chemotherapy.

She urged oncologists and medical institutions that can offer treatment to contact her or Lima.

My Past Trauma Made Me Overprotective Of My Daughter – Iyabo Ojo

Published

on

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Iyabo Ojo, has revealed that her personal experience as a rape survivor shaped the way she raised and protected her daughter, Priscilla.

Daily Voice reports that Ojo spoke about her approach to motherhood during an interview on the Morayo show.

She explained that her strong protective nature came from a desire to prevent her daughter from facing the kind of trauma she had experienced in the past. The actress said her painful experience made her particularly careful about Priscilla’s safety while she was growing up.

She took extra steps to make sure her daughter was properly supervised, especially when she was not available to watch over her herself. According to Ojo, Priscilla did not fully understand the reason behind her mother’s strict approach when she was younger.

However, as she grew older, she became aware of what had happened to her mother and came to understand why Ojo had been so cautious about her safety.

The actress also disclosed that she deliberately made sure a woman was available to care for Priscilla whenever she was away.

She said: “I was protective because I didn’t want what happened to me to happen to her, because I am a rape victim. She didn’t understand, but now she gets it. I made sure a female was around whenever I wasn’t at home.”

Veteran Nollywood actor Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, has defended filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele over claims that she is too strict while working on movie sets.

Daily Voice reports that Saka, who featured in Akindele’s 2025 movie Behind The Scenes, said her approach to work did not create any problem for him.

In an interview on FeelrightTV, he explained that her firmness was part of what was needed to successfully manage a major film production involving a large budget and many people.

The actor said Akindele treated him well during their time working together and described her as a caring and humble person.

He said: “I have worked with Funke Akindele, and she treated me very well. To those saying she’s strict on set, to be honest, I like it that way. I’m saying this publicly, not to gain anything. You have to be strong to handle a multimillion naira project, and it isn’t easy. She’s humble, caring, and she doesn’t tolerate nonsense.

“It’s not that she has a bad temper. Once you do the right thing, she has no problem with you. When it comes to work, Funke doesn’t joke. But when it’s time to entertain, she’s playful. I don’t have anything against her. If you are lazy, you can’t work with her because she doesn’t like laziness.”
