I Have Spent Years Lifting Others, I’m Now Focusing On Myself 100% – Olamide
Ace Nigerian rapper and music executive, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide Baddo, has disclosed that he is currently in a new phase of life focused entirely on himself.
Speaking in a recent interview with Flow 98.7 FM, the YBNL boss said he has long been balancing between helping others and pursuing his personal music journey, but has now chosen to focus squarely on his own well-being and growth.
“Right now, I’m at the phase in my life where I’m really trying to give myself undivided attention,” he said.
Olamide reflected on his years of supporting others in the industry, noting that he has always tried to be available for those around him while managing his own career.
All my life I’ve been trying to be there for people and also trying to do my stuff. But right now, I’m really just trying to focus on myself 100 per cent,” he added.
Naija News reports that through his record label, YBNL, Olamide has played a key role in launching the careers of several successful Nigerian artists. Notable names nurtured under his imprint include Lil Kesh, Young John, Pheelz, Fireboy DML, Lyta, Asake, Adekunle Gold, among others.
In addition to those signed under YBNL, Olamide has also offered major platform support to other rising talents by featuring them in songs that later became major hits
These include Zlatan Ibile, Naira Marley, Portable, Bella Shmurda, and many more.
However, controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, recently claimed that assistance in the Nigerian music industry is strictly a business matter.
The Zazu crooner stated this in a video via his Instagram page, claiming he had helped more people in the music industry than his colleagues Olamide, Don Jazzy, Wizkid and Davido.
According to Portable, his assistance is not only limited to those in the music industry but also extends to the less privileged.
Portable added that when most of the artistes, his colleagues are using for business decide to be independent, they label them as ungrateful.

SAD END: Popular Nollywood Actress Dead

Tope Osoba, the Nollywood actress who was battling breast cancer, has passed away at the age of 40.
Foluke Daramola, Osoba’s colleague, broke the news on Wednesday via her Instagram page.
In November 2024, the actress had solicited financial assistance after undergoing her first breast cancer surgery.
Daramola had previously shared her plight on social media.
According to Daramola, Osoba has already undergone one surgery but requires an additional procedure to remove the remaining particles from her breast. The second surgery is estimated to cost around N12 million.
Daramola shared a video of Osoba’s hospital examination, revealing that the actress has reached out to Bolaji Amusan, president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), for support.
In an interview with BBC News Yoruba, Tope revealed that she discovered a lump in her breast through a routine self-examination.
She said the doctor initially dismissed the lump, attributing it to her childbearing age.
The actress said her persistence, however, led to further testing, which revealed that the lump was cancerous.
Tope described the day she received the diagnosis as “one of the worst days of my life”.
