EFCC Arraigns Chayomi Aluminum Boss Titilayo Eboh Over Alleged N1.8bn Fraud

Published

on

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday arraigned businesswoman Titilayo Eboh before the Ikeja Special Offences Court over an alleged ₦1.8 billion fraud.

Eboh was docked alongside Chayomi Aluminum Ltd and one Abubakar Funtua, said to be at large, on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and obtaining money by false pretence.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Bail Hearing Adjourned
Prosecuting counsel, Nnaemeka Omenwa, asked the court to remand the defendant pending trial. He informed the court that the defence had forwarded a bail application via email in a related matter pending before another judge.

However, defence counsel, Emefo Etudo, said he was not involved in proceedings before that court and urged the judge to fix an early date for the hearing of the bail application, alongside multiple trial dates.

Justice Mojisola Dada ordered that the defendant be remanded and adjourned the case until March 24 for the hearing of the bail application.

Alleged Dollar Exchange Scam
According to the EFCC, the alleged offences occurred between December 2, 2020, and January 25, 2021, in Lagos.

The anti-graft agency alleged that Eboh obtained ₦1.8 billion from Olamayowa Abdulwasiu-Olabisi and Adekanmi Adedire of Himark Intertrades Ltd under the pretext that she had the dollar equivalent available for exchange at a rate of ₦420 per dollar — a claim it said she knew to be false.

The commission further alleged that she dishonestly converted ₦458.2 million belonging to the complainants to personal use. The amount represents approximately $1.9 million at an exchange rate of ₦450 to the dollar.

The alleged offences contravene Sections 1(1)(a) and 1(3) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, as well as Section 278(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.

BREAKING: Powerful Minister To Resign From Tinubu’s Cabinet; Reason Emerges

Published

on

There are indications that the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, may soon step down from his position in order to pursue his alleged governorship ambition in Lagos State ahead of the next election cycle.

A source familiar with the development told our correspondent that consultations are already underway, with close political allies reportedly encouraging the minister to formally declare his interest in the Lagos governorship race.

According to the source, Dr. Alausa is said to be weighing the political implications of remaining in the Federal Executive Council while nurturing a state-level ambition. “It is likely he may resign to fully concentrate on the Lagos project,” the source disclosed, adding that timing would depend on internal party dynamics and broader political calculations.

Although the minister has not publicly declared his intention to run, recent movements and high-level meetings in Lagos have fueled speculation about his possible entry into the race.

Political observers note that Lagos State remains a strategic stronghold in national politics, making any potential contest highly competitive within the ruling party structure. Analysts say if Dr. Alausa decides to resign, it would signal a formal step into what is expected to be a keenly contested governorship battle.

Efforts to obtain an official reaction from the minister’s office were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

As the political atmosphere gradually heats up, attention now turns to whether the Education Minister will make his intentions public in the coming weeks.

Another Nigerian Pastor’s Prophecy On Winner Of Israel-Iran War After TB Joshua Trends

The US and Israel have been told that they may not win their military campaign against Iran after the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Iran was attacked by the joint military operation between Israel and the US, a development that Primate Elijah Ayodele of Nigeria projected could lead to a global economic meltdown

Ayodele’s prophecy came after the late TB Joshua’s prophecy resurfaced on social media, warning against the war and urging world leaders to prevent it.

Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke Afa in Lagos, has said that the ongoing war in the Middle East would not be won by either the United States or Israel, which started it.

Recall that the US and Israel launched a military attack on Iran on Saturday, February 28 and assassinated the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in their bid to effect regime change in the Islamic Republic.

The death of Iran’s Supreme Leader has escalated the tension in the Middle East as Iran vowed to avenge the death of Khamenei. President Masoud Pezeshkian disclosed that Iran’s military would crush the bases of the enemy in the region, while describing the death of the Iranian leader as a ‘declaration of war against the Muslims’.

Reacting in a sermon on his church’s Facebook page, said the US would not win the war, and President Donald Trump would not be able to achieve his aim as he did in the case of Venezuela. He claimed that Trump and Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, would regret attacking the Islamic country.

He projected that Iran would soon face the United States squarely and that the war would not end so soon. He also posited that the US and Israel would not achieve their objective in the long run. He said he recalled that he warned that there would be global economic crisis, because attacking Iran could lead to such a situation.

Ayodele’s prophecy came after an old video of the late Prophet T.B Joshua projecting the outcome of a possible war between Iran and Israel has started trending on social media after a joint military operation by the United States and Israel assassinated the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In the viral clip, the late cleric urged his congregation to pray against the war between Israel and Iran, adding that such a confrontation would lead to a third world war and that it would be more brutal than expected.

Prophet TB Joshua then called on world leaders to ensure that the war was prevented from breaking out because nations would ultimately take sides, leading to a third World War.

Since the successful assassination of the Iranian leader, the Middle East has not known peace. This is as Iran launched missile attacks at all US military bases in the region, which included Saudi Arabia, UAE, Dubai and other arab neighbours that house US military bases.
