Sanwo-Olu Reaffirms Loyalty To Tinubu, Calls Rift Claims Baseless

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has strongly debunked ongoing speculation of a rift between himself and President Bola Tinubu, describing such claims as unfounded and driven by external forces eager to stir division.
Speaking with journalists on Sunday following a closed-door meeting with the President at his Ikoyi residence, Sanwo-Olu dismissed the rumours as media fabrications from people “crying more than the bereaved.”
Joined by members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC) — the highest political decision-making body within the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) — the governor made it clear that his relationship with Tinubu remains one of deep respect and political alignment.
“It’s our usual. You know, festive period Council visits and a time for Mr. President to meet with his brothers, leaders of our party… It’s something that they always look forward to,” Sanwo-Olu explained.
The governor emphasised that the visit was part of a long-standing Sallah tradition by the GAC, aimed at honouring party elders and reinforcing unity during festive seasons. He also used the occasion to offer prayers and express collective support for the President’s leadership.
Over the past several months, reports had suggested that Sanwo-Olu was moving to sideline key Tinubu loyalists in Lagos, allegedly seeking greater political autonomy. But on Sunday, the governor directly addressed and denied such insinuations, reaffirming his loyalty to Tinubu, whom he referred to as “both my leader and father.”
Sanwo-Olu also credited Tinubu with laying the foundation for Lagos’s infrastructural evolution, citing federal support and major state developments such as the Blue Line Rail Project, as examples of continuity and partnership.
Amid the backdrop of speculation and perceived party disunity, political insiders say the meeting also served as a strategic show of strength and cohesion within the APC’s Lagos bloc. It was attended by Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat and other top party stalwarts, who departed the meeting alongside the GAC convoy — further signaling a united front.
Addressing wider national issues, Sanwo-Olu pushed back against planned protests ahead of June 12 Democracy Day, arguing that the current administration is steering the economy in the right direction.
“What will be the basis of the protest? The economy has made a positive turn. Give this President more time,” he urged.
The governor’s comments are seen as part of a broader political realignment within the APC, aimed at stabilizing internal structures and reaffirming support for the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
As speculation gives way to public displays of solidarity, Sanwo-Olu’s message is clear: there is no rift — only unity and shared vision between Lagos and the Presidency.

PROPHECY: List of Nigerian Governors That May Not Return In 2027 (Full List) ICYMI

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the founder and spiritual leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a stern warning to Nigerian governors regarding their aspirations for a second term in office in 2027.
In a public statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele elaborated on the challenges these governors may face in their quest for re-election, indicating that without sincere efforts and dedication, their ambitions for a second term might be hindered.
The warning serves as a wake-up call for these leaders to recognize the potential obstacles ahead and to engage in the necessary actions to secure their political futures.
“The governors of Akwa Ibom, Delta, Enugu, Cross River, Kaduna, Zamfara, and Ondo must work well to get a second term in office.
“It’s not certain for them except they work hard and pray. This is a hint of what they should be expecting.
“They need to work very well so that they won’t lose their second-term ambition,” he revealed.
Primate Ayodele also warned the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to be careful and prayerful so that his second term as Senate President will not be traded.
“Senate President Godswill Akpabio must be very careful and prayerful to get a second term as Senate president. I see his position being traded; he must work very hard to avoid it.”
Likewise, Primate Ayodele revealed that prominent senators and members of the House of Representatives will not return for a second term, too, while warning Ned Nwoko of Delta against his governorship ambition, saying it’s not yet his time.

2027 Election: Presidency Speaks On What Would Happen If Jonathan Decides To Run Against Tinubu [VIDEO]

Special adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on policy communication, Daniel Bwala, ruled out the possibility of any political figure, including for- mer President Goodluck Jonathan, defeating Tinubu the 2027 election
Bwala, who was a guest on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’, was asked if there is a need to worry over the recent clamour for Jonathan to run for of- fice in 2027
Some political stakeholders have claimed that Jonathan would be one of the leading candidates to confront incumbent President Tinubu in the 2027 general election
dailyvoice.ng reports that rumours swirled in Nigeria over a possible 2027 presidential run by ex-leader Goodluck Jonathan.
Bwala’s video can be watched here
Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Wednesday night, August 12 nonitored by Legit.ng, Bwala spoke on if a Jonathan comeback bid could rattle President Tinubu
Recently, former Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido, threw his weight behind Jonathan as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) strongest option or the 2027 presidential election.
This is as he urged the party to “woo” him back into its fold.
Reacting to the CaMS for Jonathan to contest against Tinubu, Bwala said:
“I see that some unscrupulous elements are trying to hoodwink former President Goodluck Jonathan to come into politics so that they can destroy his reputation, which after he left government he has been building by becoming an international figure globally.”
Bwala explained that Tinubu has ‘captured”the, south south geopolitical zone where Jonathan comes from.
He continued: “The elements that are going to him in the north, asking him to run, where they not the ones that chased him away? So, what hope does he have that this time around, they are calling him because they mean well for him?
“Then, look at the political class that are coming to- gether to cajole him to come into politics. I know former President Goodluck Jonathan is smarter than that. But if former President Jonathan decides to run, let me tell you, I have seen the political cli- mate in Nigeria today, andt will speak to facts, not conjectures, there is not a single politician that has the capacity to knock off President Bola Tinubu – in all fronts.”
