ADC Sends Blunt Message To Tinubu On 74th Birthday
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has slammed President Bola Tinubu on his birthday, while referencing the state of the country.
Naija News reports that the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, in a statement via his 𝕏 handle, said the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope promise has turned into hardship and hopelessness for many Nigerians.
Abdullahi stated that Nigerians are now facing increasing economic and security challenges under the current leadership, citing the rise in fuel prices, which have made daily life more difficult for ordinary citizens.
The ADC chieftain also criticised the government’s poor response to insecurity, saying the situation has worsened, with more lives lost and communities affected by violence.
While acknowledging that birthdays are moments of reflection, Abdullahi urged President Tinubu to take governance more seriously in the coming year.
The post read, “Happy Birthday, Mr. President. As you mark another year, Nigerians reflect on a presidency whose impact is now impossible to ignore. Under your watch, fuel prices have risen by nearly 500%, turning basic transportation into a daily calculation of survival.
“Under your leadership, Nigeria has climbed to 4th on the Global Terrorism Index, while thousands of lives have been lost to violence, families shattered, and communities displaced. Every hour, a Nigerian is killed by insurgents.
“Under your presidency, insecurity has not just persisted, it has adapted, expanded, and, at times, been met with language that blurs accountability, where those who terrorize Nigerians are referred to as “sons” and “brothers,” even as their victims bury loved ones.
“Under your leadership, the economic strain on Nigerians has deepened, the cost of living has surged, and the ‘Renewed Hope’ that you promised has turned to hopelessness for millions of Nigerian families. And under your watch, the political space is narrowing, raising real concerns about the steady drift toward a one-party state, in a democracy that was fought for with blood, sweat and tears.
“But birthdays are for reflection. So as you celebrate your final year in office, Nigerians can only offer a prayer, that this next year brings a sudden and unfamiliar miracle: that you begin to take governance more seriously; that you finally see the loss of lives under your watch as a failure of your leadership; and that you begin, at the very least, to act with the weight and responsibility of leading the world’s most populous Black nation. Wishing you good health, improved judgment, and a sense of responsibility to the people you govern.”

JUST IN: Crisis Deepens As APC Finally Suspends Fubara
Members and the Ward 4 Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State have suspended Fubara Dagogo following his legal action against the party over its forthcoming convention.
The suspension was announced by the ward leadership after Dagogo reportedly approached the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to halt the APC’s planned convention.
Dagogo had alleged that he was unfairly excluded from contesting the position of National Vice-Chairman (South-South) despite paying ₦5.1 million for the nomination form.
He claimed that after making the payment, the party failed to issue him the form.
In the suit filed before the court, Dagogo asked the court to suspend the South-South zonal congress, declare him eligible to contest the position, nullify any election conducted without his participation and award him ₦100 million in damages.
However, the Ward 4 executive committee in Bonny said Dagogo’s action amounted to gross misconduct and anti-party activities.
The decision was conveyed by the ward chairman, Richard Ibani, who said the resolution followed a meeting of the committee held on March 16.
The resolution announcing the suspension was also signed by the Ward Secretary, Donald Jumbo, alongside 21 other members of the committee.
According to the ward leadership, Dagogo’s suspension is indefinite and was based on alleged violations of the party’s constitution.
The statement accused him of breaching the APC Constitution, engaging in anti-party activities and making statements capable of embarrassing the party.
The ward executive committee said the alleged offences contravened Article 21.2 (I), (II), and (VII) of the APC Constitution 2022 (as amended).
Ward leaders accuse him of disregarding party rules
Part of the statement read: “The ward exco has always advised its members to desist from actions capable of ridiculing our party, but your recent actions have shown that you are not willing to respect and abide by the constitution and actions of our great party.”
The statement added that the suspension takes immediate effect.
“Your suspension is effective immediately, and we ask the state secretariat to endorse our resolution with the necessary actions,” the ward leaders stated.
