Germany To Deliver 5 More Missiles Interceptors To UKraine
Germany will deliver five additional PAC-3 missile interceptors to Ukraine if other countries donate a total of 30, German defence minister Boris Pistorius said on Thursday.
PAC-3, or Patriot Advanced Capability-3, is among the main weapons the West has supplied to Ukraine as it fights Russia’s invasion.
“We all know it is about saving lives,” Pistorius said in Brussels after a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group.
“It’s a matter of days and not a matter of weeks or months,” he added.
The minister noted that the Patriots announcement has not yet been approved by national governments, but said he is “very optimistic” that the 30+5 target can be achieved.

Impersonation: Army Arrests Man Posing As Military General
The Nigerian Army on Thursday said it has arrested Alhaji Tijjani Abdul Rauf, a man posing as a military general, misleading the public and abusing the prestige of the military institution.
In a statement issued by Appolonia Anene, the Army said it uncovered and arrested Rauf who parades himself as a retired Major General after he consistently exploited false credentials to intimidate unsuspecting civilians,
Anene said investigations showed that contrary to his claims, the imposter was never commissioned into the Nigerian Army, nor did he attain the rank of a general from the service.
She stated that further investigations revealed that Tijjani also fraudulently claimed attendance at the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, while asserting that he was a recipient of the national honour, Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
“The impostor was found to have consistently exploited these false credentials to intimidate unsuspecting civilians, including during court proceedings where he presented himself as a retired senior military officer to command undue respect, sympathy and influence.
“During interrogation, media reports published in two nationally recognised newspapers were recovered, in which the impostor was repeatedly referred to as a “retired Major General.” These misrepresentations, now established to be false, further demonstrate the extent to which the individual sustained his deception within the public space,” Anene said.
Continuing, she highlighted that one such claim, published by an online newspaper, was the identification of Tijjani as “Major General AbdulRauf Tijjani (rtd)” in a suit instituted against the Lagos State Government and other respondents, in which he sought ₦8 billion in damages.
In another report, the imposter was also referred to as a Major General while detailing his appeal against the dismissal of the same suit, which the court had earlier described as a gross abuse of court process and incompetent in law.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to categorically state that no retired officer of the Nigerian Army bears the name Alhaji Tijjani Abdul Rauf, nor has any officer with such identity ever held the rank of Major General or above within the Service. We strongly condemn this act of impersonation, which constitutes a grave offence, undermines public trust and tarnishes the honour and integrity of officers who have genuinely served the nation with distinction.
“The Nigerian Army reiterates its commitment to protecting the sanctity of its ranks, honours and institutions and will continue to collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure that impostors and fraudsters are brought to justice. Members of the public are hereby urged to verify claims of military status through appropriate channels and report any suspicious representations to security agencies,” she added.
She further called on the general public to be mindful of the dangers associated with the impersonation or use of military uniforms and badges by unauthorised persons as the Army will not hesitate to apprehend and prosecute such persons in accordance with the law.

Terrorist Kidnap Kaduna Lawmaker While Returning From Official Trip
A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly has been abducted by suspected terrorists while travelling back to the state from an official assignment.
The incident involved Honourable Usman Garba, also known as Zingo, who represents Kajuru Constituency in the Assembly.
He was taken on Wednesday, February 11, during a return journey from Zamfara State to Kaduna.
Details available indicate that the attack happened along the highway close to Kaduna. Armed men reportedly intercepted the vehicle conveying the lawmaker and forced it to stop.
A post shared on X about the incident read:
“BREAKING: Hon. Usman Garba Zingo has reportedly been abducted by armed bandits while traveling from Zamfara to Kaduna today. The incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity along the highways in North-West region, as calls mount for urgent action. How are security agencies responding to escalating abductions on highways?”
Witness accounts suggest that the attackers dragged the lawmaker out of the vehicle and drove off with him, leaving his driver behind at the scene. The driver was said to have immediately alerted security operatives at a nearby police station. By the time officers moved to the location, the gunmen had already escaped with their victim.
As of the time this report was filed, no contact had been made with the lawmaker’s family or the Kaduna State Government. There has also been no information on whether the abductors have made any demands.

Peller Raises Concern Over Schooling Impact on His Income
Popular Online Streamer and content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has hinted that he may no longer return to school, barely days after celebrating his admission to study law at a private university in Lagos State. Peller made the disclosure in a voice note shared on his channel on Tuesday, where he complained that attending school was affecting his ability to make money.
“Guys, I swear to God, I remember I said I am going to school… I am not going again. I am not going again,” he said.
The content creator explained that spending hours in class without earning income made the experience unacceptable to him. “I just remember, I was inside class for four hours. I didn’t make any money. I will write, I will look, I will play, not making anything. God forbid. I am not doing that one again,” he said.
Peller also claimed he felt out of place among other students, describing himself as the youngest person in the class. “When I enter the school, I notice that everyone is old, I am the only young blood there,” he added. He further stated that he would consider returning to school later in life.
“So I need to go old. Maybe when I clock like 30, 40 years, I will now go to school. Please cancel everything. I am tired,” he said. The development marks a sharp reversal from Peller’s recent public celebration of his admission into a law programme.
Recall that the TikTok sensation had, in a video that went viral on Saturday, announced that he had secured admission to study law at a private university in Lagos State, although he declined to disclose the name of the institution.
In the video, Peller expressed excitement over the admission and appeared to respond to critics who had mocked his educational background. “Everyone has been criticising me for not being educated, as if I’m the first person who didn’t attend university. Now, all of you should leave social media, because I’m in school,” he said.
“I’m now studying law. You can see it, right? You can’t mess with me anymore. I know the law,” he added.
PUNCH Online reports that the content creator has faced sustained criticism online over his grammar and educational background, with some users describing him as “uneducated.” Earlier this month, Peller had disclosed plans to further his education, noting that the decision was partly aimed at improving his spoken English.
He has also been in the public eye following a controversy surrounding the visit of American streamer IShowSpeed to Nigeria.
