Done Deal: Iheanacho Moves To Danish Club FC Midtylland
Nigerian striker Stanley Iheanacho has completed a return to Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland from Portuguese second tier outfit CD Mafra.
Iheanacho signed a contract with FC Midtylland until December 31, 2030.
The 21-year-old spent two seasons with CD Mafra, scoring 17 goals in 65 appearances.
FC Midtylland Thrilled To Re-sign Iheanacho
Sports director Kristian Bach Bak is pleased that FC Midtjylland has bought the talented striker.
” Stanley is still a young boy who came very far from home early on. He traveled from Nigeria to Denmark and then from Denmark to Portugal,” Bak told the club’s official website.
” He has taken some steps towards senior football during the two years he has been in Mafra. At the beginning he was a small part of the team and had to fight for playing time, but last season he contributed with goals and assists, and played a big role. He has matured.
“Stanley is a fantastic person. He is wonderfully positive and happy, and as a player he has a really high top speed. He is very dynamic in his playing style, moves a lot and is aggressive under pressure. He works hard and then he has the wonderful quality of being able to score goals.”
Iheanacho Ready For Fresh Start
Iheanacho is also looking forward to continuing his development at FC Midtjylland.
” I see it as a good opportunity for me to move to FC Midtjylland. I really enjoyed my time here when I played in the academy. It was like my springboard and the start of my career” Iheanacho stated.
” I managed to make my first-team debut, which I am incredibly happy about, but at the time the good decision for me was to move to Mafra. I got a lot of playing time, and had a really good season most recently. Now I feel that the next step for me is to move back to FC Midtjylland and hopefully get playing time here and continue my development.
“I already know many of the team, as several of those I played with in the U19 team and in Mafra are now playing in the first team. I look forward to being part of the club again, hopefully winning titles and playing in the Europa League.”

OFFICIAL: Silva Joins Real Madrid On Two-Year Deal After Man City Exit
Real Madrid have signed former Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva on a free transfer.
Silva has signed a two-year deal at Real, who have already added Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella in a £51.8m and extended the contract of centre-back Antonio Rudiger following the return of head coach Jose Mourinho.
The 31-year-old’s contract at City expired at the end of last season, which brought to a close his trophy-laden nine-year stay at the club.
Announcing the signing, Madrid wrote on their website on Wednesday:”Real Madrid C. F. and Bernardo Silva have reached an agreement for him to become a Real Madrid player for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2028.”
LaLiga champions Barcelona and Atletico Madrid also made offers to Silva, but he opted to accept Real Madrid’s.
Silva scored 76 goals in 460 appearances for City after joining from Monaco in 2017.
He played a key part in winning six Premier League titles and one Champions League among 16 major trophies during his time at the club.
Silva captained City in his final season and played in all 38 of their Premier League matches as they finished second, winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
He is set to feature for Portugal at the World Cup 2026 in their opening Group K match against DR Congo on Wednesday evening.

OFFICIAL: Tunisia Appoint Renard New Head Coach
Tunisia have acted swiftly to revive their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, appointing experienced French tactician Hervé Renard as head coach following the departure of Sabri Lamouchi, reports Completesports.com.
The change comes after the Carthage Eagles suffered an opening-match defeat at the tournament, prompting the federation to make an early managerial switch.
The North Africans are rooted to the bottom of their group after the 5-1 defeat to Sweden, and facing an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stages.
Tunisia Turn To Renard For Redemption
Renard is expected to arrive in Monterrey on Tuesday and will take charge of the team’s training session later in the day.
The 57-year-old’s first assignment will be a crucial Group F encounter against Japan on 20 June in Monterrey.
The Carthage Eagles will face Netherlands in their last group game.
Experience Will Be Vital
Renard is no stranger to African football. He remains the only coach to have won the Africa Cup of Nations with two different nations, guiding Zambia to a remarkable triumph in 2012 before leading Côte d’Ivoire to continental glory three years later.
His coaching résumé also includes spells with Morocco and Saudi Arabia, as well as appearances at the FIFA World Cup.
Renard’s most recent World Cup experience came with Saudi Arabia at Qatar 2022, where his side produced one of the biggest shocks in tournament history by defeating eventual champions Argentina in the group stage.
The Tunisian federation believes that experience could prove invaluable as the Eagles attempt to rescue their campaign against strong opposition in Group F.
Although Renard’s initial appointment runs until the end of the current World Cup, reports indicate that discussions are already in place regarding a possible extension should both parties wish to continue beyond the tournament.
