Full List: Burna Boy Bags Two Nods As Ayra Starr, Davido Make 2026 Grammy Award Nominations
The Recording Academy has unveiled the full list of nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards, presenting a powerful mix of global heavyweights, rising stars and African trailblazers.
Naija News reports that the 68th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
This year’s event will honor music released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025, and comes with two newly introduced Grammy categories, Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover, expanding the award’s long-standing commitment to spotlighting diverse music excellence.
Naija News reports that American rap icon Kendrick Lamar tops the list with nine nominations, cementing his status as one of this decade’s most influential performers. His dominance cuts across major categories, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Rap Album.
Following closely behind is global superstar Lady Gaga, who earned seven nominations and made history yet again as the most-nominated female artist of the 2026 cycle. Her album, MAYHEM, secured her fifth career nomination in the coveted Album of the Year category.
Pop star Sabrina Carpenter also continued her strong awards momentum with a second consecutive Album of the Year nod for Man’s Best Friend, reinforcing her rise as a major industry force.
This year’s Best New Artist category features a dynamic mix of fast-rising global voices. Nominees include KATSEYE, Olivia Dean, Addison Rae, Leon Thomas, Sombr, and several other breakout acts who gained commercial and critical success over the year.
The category, traditionally known for spotlighting future global superstars, remains one of the most fiercely contested races heading into the ceremony.
Burna Boy Leads Africa’s Charge With Two Major Nominations
Africa recorded one of its strongest Grammy showings ever, with nine African acts, including five Nigerians, securing nominations across multiple global music categories.
Nigeria’s Burna Boy leads the continent with two nominations: Best African Music Performance for his song Love and Best Global Music Album for No Sign of Weakness.
His double nod makes him the highest-nominated African artist in the 2026 Grammy cycle, further reinforcing his dominance in global Afrobeats and world music.
Joining him on the nominee list are Nigerian superstars Davido, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid, all of whom made strong entries in African music categories.
African icons such as Angélique Kidjo (Benin), Eddy Kenzo (Uganda), Tyla (South Africa), and Youssou N’Dour (Senegal) also secured slots, highlighting a continental surge in global music influence.
Nigerian artists swept the Best African Music Performance category, reflecting Afrobeats’ expanding footprint.
The nominees include:
- “Love” – Burna Boy
- “With You” – Davido ft. Omah Lay
- “Gimme Dat” – Ayra Starr ft. Wizkid
Also competing are Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo with Mehran Matin on Hope & Love, and South Africa’s Grammy-winning sensation Tyla with PUSH 2 START.
This category continues to grow as one of the most anticipated for African fans, given the global explosion of African rhythms.
Burna Boy Faces Youssou N’Dour, Kidjo in Best Global Music Album Race
In the Best Global Music Album category, Burna Boy faces some of the most respected voices in global music:
- Youssou N’Dour (Sénégal) – Éclairer le Monde (Light the World)
- Angélique Kidjo (Benin) – nominee in the Global Performance category
- Anoushka Shankar (India) – Chapter III: We Return to Light
The category remains one of the most prestigious, celebrating albums that reflect global fusion, traditional influences and cultural storytelling.
Music lovers worldwide now await what promises to be a highly competitive Grammy night, with African music expected to play a more prominent role than ever before. With Burna Boy and fellow Nigerian nominees drawing global attention, the 2026 Grammys may mark yet another milestone in Africa’s growing cultural export.

Tension As Teddy A Unveils Mystery Woman Amid Rumours of Marriage Crash With BamBam
Teddy A has shared a new photo of himself locked in the arms of an unidentified woman, accompanied by a cryptic Yoruba caption Observant fans have noticed that BamBam has officially removed Teddy A’s name from her Instagram bio.
From missing Mother’s Day tributes to a total lack of a birthday post for his wife, the cracks in the “BamTeddy” union have moved from private whispers to public silence.
Nigerian reality TV star Teddy A has set tongues wagging online after sharing a cosy photo of himself with an unidentified woman. The image, posted on Monday, April 4, showed the former Big Brother Naija housemate holding the woman closely.
Accompanying the post was a seemingly harmless caption: “Pele pele laye gba! Hello May, happy new month fanmily!”
While Teddy A did not provide any context about the woman in the photo, the internet quickly began to read between the lines.
This comes at a time when rumours have been circulating, suggesting that his marriage to BamBam may be facing serious challenges.
Though neither party has publicly confirmed a split, their recent online activity tells a story fans can’t seem to ignore. One of the earliest signs that raised concern was BamBam’s decision to remove Teddy A’s name from her Instagram bio.
Not long after, during Mother’s Day celebrations, Teddy A shared a tribute to important women in his life, but noticeably left out his wife’s name. For fans who had followed their love story since their Big Brother Naija days, the omission felt unusual. Adding to the speculation, Teddy A also did not publicly celebrate BamBam on her recent birthday — a gesture that many consider routine among celebrity couples.

Sisialagbo: Fears Grow as She Takes Serious Action After Husband’s Disturbing Post
There is growing concern over the whereabouts and well-being of popular herb vendor and influencer Eniola Sisialagbo after her sudden disappearance from Facebook.
A check on her page on Friday, May 1, showed that the account, which doubles as her business platform, has been locked and is no longer accessible to the public. The development has left many followers uneasy, especially coming on the heels of a troubling message shared by her husband, Akeem Adesola
Just a day before her page went private, Akeem had taken to Facebook with a short but alarming message:
“Oh Allah, save my wife.” The post immediately drew attention, with many questioning what might have gone wrong behind the scenes. At the time, the couple was already under intense public scrutiny following the circulation of their controversial private video online.
Before then, Akeem had issued a detailed public apology, accepting full responsibility for the viral incident. In his statement, he admitted that his actions had caused embarrassment and pain not only to his wife but also to family members, business associates, and supporters.
“I take full responsibility for my actions,” he wrote, describing the situation as a turning point in his life. He also appealed for forgiveness, promising to learn from the experience and rebuild trust moving forward.
Similarly, Sisialagbo had earlier addressed the issue in an emotional message, expressing regret and asking for understanding. “I own my mistakes and I apologize with all sincerity,” she wrote, adding that the situation had taken a heavy emotional toll on her.

Blessing CEO Returns To Instagram After Cancer Claim Controversy
Controversial Nigerian influencer, Blessing Okoro Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has returned to Instagram weeks after deactivating her account amid backlash over her claim of battling stage four breast cancer.
A check on her page shows that she has deleted all posts related to the cancer diagnosis, including interviews and materials previously shared to support her claim.
Only a documentary-style post on breast health awareness remains visible on her page.
The controversy began in January when the influencer announced she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer and appealed for financial assistance.
She had backed her claim with what she described as a medical report. However, Xinus Medical Diagnostics disputed the authenticity of the document, alleging that it had been altered.
The centre stated that the original report belonged to Deborah Mbara and was issued in May 2025.
Mbara, a makeup artist and cancer survivor, later accused Blessing CEO of using her medical report without consent.
The development sparked outrage and raised concerns over the authenticity of the fundraising appeal.
Following the allegations, Mbara’s family petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing the influencer of cyberbullying, forgery, and running a fraudulent fundraising scheme.
The petition alleged that over ₦300 million was raised from members of the public under false pretences.
The Nigerian Cancer Society also called for a thorough investigation, urging authorities to ensure accountability.
Blessing CEO had deactivated her Instagram account shortly after the controversy escalated, but has now returned to the platform.
As of the time of filing this report, she has yet to publicly address the allegations following her return.
